William F. "Bill" Allen, CFII Gold Seal, is a highly skilled and experienced flight instructor with several thousand hours of flight time who identifies Bob Hoover as his greatest inspiration. The most essential and fundamental concept Bill teaches all of his students is precision flying and Energy Management refined by Bob Hoover. Just ask Bill about the "Echo Challenge".
Bill earned his Private Pilot certificate in 1979 and began teaching as an Advanced Ground Instructor at Amity Flight School in 1996 before becoming a fully-fledged CFI in January 2000. Bill is the longest-established active flight instructor at Worcester Regional Airport and was named Professional Flight Instructor by the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) in September 2000. He was awarded the Gold Seal Certificate by the FAA in 2002. The award is intended "to identify those instructors who have high personal qualifications and good records as active flight instructors," and are issued in recognition of maintaining "a high level of flight training activity," namely, having trained and recommended over 10 applicants for practical FAA examinations in a 24-month period.

Bob Hoover has set records for transcontinental "time to climb" speed, and has personally known such great aviators as Orville Wright, Eddie Rickenbacker, Charles Lindbergh, Jacqueline Cochran, Neil Armstrong and Yuri Gagarin.
